DEFINITION
What is independent project and program assurance?
Independent project assurance is objective oversight of a single project’s delivery confidence, governance, risk and controls, provided by advisors outside the delivery team. Program assurance applies the same independent discipline across the multiple related projects, dependencies and outcomes that make up a program or transformation. In both cases, assurance provides Boards, executives and sponsors with evidence-based confidence about delivery — without replacing management or governance.
